Berlin

I took a trip to Berlin the other week. Most of these pictures are from Kreuzberg, in East Berlin. I walked down Friedrichstra├če, hitting Checkpoint Charlie which is unfortunately less of a historic monument than a tourist trap. Checkpoint Charlie was one of the few places that people could cross between East and West Berlin. The building covered in vines is a church that was constructed in 1854 to 1855 by one of the Wilhelms. It was destroyed as collateral damage while bombing the newspapers that were located behind it and reconstructed a decade or so later. The final building is located near Museum Island in West Berlin.
